The history of the so called Five Civilized Tribes and the state of Oklahoma will not be complete until the history of the enslaved African and African-Native Americans is told.

The Estelusti Foundation has maintained as it’s mission to publish, and preserve this unique “American” history and we introduce a new feature entitled “Vignettes of Indian Territory.”

We will bring short biographies of the women and men who survived enslavement to endure “Jim Crow” and still managed to fight for their rights as humans and citizens within the nations of their birth.

Estelusti Foundation extends an offer to all who have a portrait of an Indian Territory Freedmen and can submit a 300-400 word essay on that individual for inclusion in this project of education and preservation. Send your submissions to (jpeg or tif images only ): Estelusti@aol.com
